Our scrunchies are up-cycled from 100% silk pieces of handmade bandhani left over from our apparel. There might be variations in the piece you order from what you see on screen. To maximize the look of our scrunchies, wear them as usual and gently tug the fabric outwards to fan it out for a dramatic effect.
The fabric for these scrunchies is completely hand made. It uses the traditional method of tie & dye ‘Bandhani’ where every dot is knotted by hand on fabric using fine thread. These dots resist the dye in the areas of the knots. Hundreds of these dots are configured together to make a pattern.
Harkoi is designed in the United States and handcrafted by artisans in India. We believe in the virtue of slow fashion and making products by hand. We design styles that can stand the test of time and steer clear of fast fashion trends.
Please note colors can vary from screen to in-person. The dots are hand tied and will never be the same size or shape. The small variations and unevenness add to the beauty of the product. You will always own a unique piece.
