OUR STORY

Harkoi, a Hindi word that translates to "everyone" or “anyone”, is a brand that thrives within a multitude of aesthetics – minimal and bold, textural and abstract.

It is brand born of the diversity of its founders, sisters living on the opposite ends of the globe with a shared vision to create products that keep slow fashion at its core and a reverence for hand crafted & handmade goods that can serve to be modern heirlooms.

Suruchi is a textile designer and artist based in the US. She has collaborated with craftspeople for over a decade before moving to the US to pursue her masters at the Rhode Island School of Design. Her design for a handcrafted Tibetan wool scarf was awarded the Unesco-CCI Seal of Excellence. Having worked in the mass market industry for many years, she decided to reconnect with her roots and her passion for creating artisanal hand made goods and so, Harkoi was born.

Shivani is a writer-in-progress and brand strategist based out of Mumbai, India. She likes to dabble in a multitude of things, because what's the point of being the master of one and jack of no fun? She loves wearing bright colors, collecting plants, exploring India and the world, binge watching movies when she isn't on shoots and working with Suruchi on Harkoi.

Together they are the creative force behind Harkoi and the beautiful products you see here.
